Activities for Individuals
- Be on-call to help with mailings and special projects.
- Sort mail in our client service office, weekdays from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
- Be our Sunday laundry driver or be our grocery shopper.
- Staff the office of our women's shelter while a case manager is counseling, 4 hour shifts. Women only, please.
- Apply to teach a life skill, craft, or exercise class.
Activities for Groups or Families
- We need small crews to help serve meals. Larger groups often choose to divide themselves between two nearby sites.
- Prepare and serve supper for 40-50 men or women at one of our shelters. Suitable for 3-6 people, depending upon the menu you choose.
- Bring just a dessert and help dish up supper at one of our shelters. Suitable for 2-4 people.
- Prepare and serve Sunday brunch for 78 men. Suitable for 3-8 people.
- Women only-prepare and serve 7:00 Sunday breakfast at Hammond House shelter. Suitable for 2-3 people.
- Form a cleaning, painting, or yard work party.
Activities To Do At Your Church or Club
- Make 25 sack lunches for men looking for work or starting new jobs. (Consider a monthly pledge.)
- Collect bath towels, washcloths, single bed linens, pillows, soap, disposable razors, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes.
- Make quilts for our bunks. Residents moving into housing may take their quilts home.
- Adopt one of our transitional houses (5-7 residents) for a holiday and put up a Christmas Giving Tree.
