It is estimated that 35% of homeless men are military veterans. The Compass Center seeks to address the needs that are unique to many of these veterans through the following programs:
The Veterans Center houses 21 men and 4 women for up to two years. It is a place where basic needs can be met and much needed counseling and life skills training is available. The Compass Veterans Center is structured similarly to the Men's Program and Compass Cascade, with mental health professionals, chemical dependency counseling, and trained staff to help clients deal with issues specific to veterans.
Through a partnership with the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program (VVLP), The Compass Center provides housing for military veterans. The two houses operated by this program are located in South Seattle and Burien.
