Compass Center Programs

Family Program

According to the most recent One Night Count Report on Homelessness, there are over 8,500 homeless individuals in King County on any given night, close to half of which are families. Single-parents and their children are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population in the Seattle area. These families, especially the children, are extremely vulnerable to social, physical, and psychological trauma that can devastate their present and cripple their future. The longer a family goes without housing the more destructive the long-term impact of homelessness becomes.

At the Compass Center, we understand the critical need to stabilize families. The Family Support Program offers a secure, structured environment where families can regain a sense of stability and perspective.  Each family that enters our program is placed into their very own apartment. The program responds to identified client needs with a variety of supportive services, which enhance the individual’s employment and housing status, educational level, medical care, and personal growth.  Our goal is to promote healthy, stable, families who are connected to a network of community support and opportunities.

To apply for our program, please call (206) 357-3160 and speak with a staff person.
